Through a series of voice messages, the performance is an aural “jump cut”, that exposes a quarantine’s loneliest moments: when a phone call remains unanswered. 

 

This is a story happening now. 

The Covid19 crisis finds Alice away from her home and her partner. Her voice messages to him compose an audio diary of her 200-day static journey in quarantine. As an alien visitor, Alice struggles with bureaucracy and the measures taken are a sudden obstacle to her return to her homeland. Message after message , we one-sidedly piece together the puzzle of a changing world and a country transforming into a dystopian society on the brink of collapse, where the virus becomes a tool of oppression in the hands of the local government.
